Overall
Megacon is a huge convention every year, and with this year having so many big names, it was no surprise that the convention center was packed once again.
One big let down this year was how Megacon handled people getting to meet Matt Smith. They knew he was going to be a very popular request so you have to buy tickets ahead of time to meet him, but they didn’t give any type of window for the time people should come, and way oversold their tickets. Plenty of people didn’t get to see him and were very disappointed. I think that as Megacon brings in the big names they should work to make sure everyone gets a chance and doesn’t oversell their tickets, maybe by having a certain number of tickets per ten minutes that an actor will be signing, and have the tickets marked for that ten minute window. It would save a lot of time for people so they aren’t standing in line to meet someone for three or four hours then don’t even get to meet them. There are so many things to do at the con, it’s a shame to waste so much of it.
That being said, there was also a huge positive to this year! Megacon tried out their first ever Anime After Dark, where about twenty different voice actors showed up for exclusive meet and great and autograph opportunities after the main show closed. It was a great experience, especially for all of us that wish the conventions could go on longer because we just don’t get enough time to do all the things we want to do.
The food hall had some good and some bad (the Gyro place had surprisingly large portions which was wonderful) and was stationed next to the HQ stage for some great live music and entertainment when you need to take a break and sit down.

Vendor Hall
Starting off strong with a big favorite here- Sew Much Thread is unique and intricate. They use string art to create mesmerizing and colorful pieces featuring all your favorite characters!
Calling all cat lovers! That’s Boyman has an array of cat focused memorabilia for sale that is as cute as can be. Run by a loving cat mom, That’s Boyman has some of the best comical and cute cat content.
MegaCon had a great horror selection this year, so no surprise that they had some wicked horror booths as well! DoA has everything from stickers to t shirts to info on some of the next great events. Definitely fun for those who love the macabre
Gerry Draws has a playful and colorful art style that really pops. Committed to quality items, they create top of the line anime themed desk mats and bags, and of course the classic prints and stickers as well
People have been loving getting into the 3D printing world, but it means the market is oversaturated with a lot of the same stuff. That’s why I was so happy to come across Mustafar Marketplace. They had unique designs with varying intricacies and mobility to set this guild ahead of the curve
No surprise, we love the people who take a step beyond the ordinary here, and Jaded Jynx takes a leap! Here you can find shadow boxes of all of your favorite fandoms! Each one takes hours to assemble by hand so make sure you check out the store and appreciate the hard work and skill!
While MadZ is currently in a Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss craze, so is the rest of the world at the moment. MadZ makes the most epic custom 3D statues that are incredibly detailed and exciting. I have had the pleasure of watching her gift statues to their respective voice actor twice now and the actors are as excited about them as I am
These wondrous watercolor prints are beautiful beyond words. Huynh has worked with big names like Blizzard and Riot and it’s easy to see why! Her works are charming and sweet and if not for you, I guarantee they would be perfect gifts for others. Too precious!
Cenoskinz has a collection of intense and realistic sculptures of life sized heads of famous characters coming to life straight out of pictures and plaques. Weather you want Deadpool’s head with Wolverines claws through it, or the clown from the Terrifier series, or just about any other character you can think of, this is an amazing and impressive collection
